Barça to Host Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
