Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.
A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
Fulham have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.
However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
