Almost 55,000 households have so far been impacted by the weather, with their belongings and shelters destroyed.

Heavy storms over the recent period have intensified the already dire circumstances of the hundreds of thousands of uprooted civilians in the region, as reported by aid groups.

"Horrendous" Conditions Brings Severe Dangers

A spokesman described the weather overnight as "horrendous", with precipitation so severe that as much as 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the ground.

"Last night was exceptionally difficult for the people. The storms were so powerful... And the gusts were so forceful," said the official.

Officials express grave worry that children residing in makeshift shelters in soaked clothing will contract hypothermia and additional sicknesses.

Fatalities and Extensive Damage

Health authorities have stated that one baby has died from the cold and at least 11 other people have died in structural failures triggered by the severe weather.

Additional accounts suggest a increased death toll. Officials said that several homes had fully given way and many others had been partly destroyed.

  • Almost 55,000 families affected by rains.
  • More than 40 official shelters submerged.
  • Countless residents compelled to move once more.

Aid Distribution Seen as Insufficient

Agencies have escalated shipments of tarpaulins, bedding and clothes since the halt in hostilities commenced, but they emphasize there is remains not enough aid entering.

"We are striving constantly to deliver that relief and to hand it out, but the magnitude of the needs is so vast that we are faced with a great number of people and minors who are genuinely enduring hardship every night," cautioned one official.

Future Challenges and Ceasefire Terms

The next stage of the agreement includes proposals for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with future administration, the pullback of personnel, and other conditions.

Aid groups have highlighted the necessity for "expanded and ongoing humanitarian assistance to address urgent and future needs."

The war was initiated by an assault in October 2023. Subsequent actions have resulted in a substantial number of casualties in the area, based on health ministry figures.
