Tottenham Boss Thomas Frank Calls Vicario Booers 'Not Real Supporters'
The Cottagers Begin Powerfully to Defeat Spurs and Raise Tension on Frank
Spurs supporters who jeered keeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed afterwards "those individuals cannot be real Spurs fans" by manager Thomas Frank.
Tottenham let in two goals in the opening initial moments to lose 2-1 to Fulham, marking their 10th top-flight home loss of 2025.
But the primary topic of discussion was Fulham's second goal when Vicario lost possession far outside his box.
The goalkeeper ventured out to deal with a long ball and took the ball towards the touchline.
However, instead of booting it into touch, the Italy international turned and attempted to clear, but slipped as the ball glanced off Wilson and was controlled by Josh King.
The forward laid the ball off to Wales midfielder Wilson, who bent a strike into the net from the sideline recorded at 36.6 metres.
Moments afterwards when the ball came to Vicario once more, a number of Spurs fans booed him.
Spurs were booed off at half-time, with the side 2-0 behind, and once more at full-time.
A particular of those jeering episodes really angered Frank.
"It came to my attention some of our fans reportedly booed the incident and booed following, which, in my view is completely unacceptable," the Danish manager stated about the supporters' response to his shot-stopper.
"Those individuals can't be true Spurs fans that act that way. Fair enough booing after the match, fine, but when we are playing, we are supporting each other, we are with each other moving ahead."
Tete had handed the visitors a fourth-minute advantage prior to Harry Wilson's strike – with Mohammed Kudus scoring for Spurs in an better second period showing.
Former top-flight keeper Joe Hart remarked that the next score was "completely preventable".
"I certainly understand the fans' disappointment," the ex-keeper added. "I am aware the role Vicario is performing. He's a great team player, he is a real figure in the locker room but in the end you are going to be judged by your actions.
"The keeper was heavily involved in what ended up to be the decisive goal."

Frank Defended His Goalkeeper Vicario After the Game
Italy international the keeper is in his third campaign with Tottenham.
The 29-year-old stated after the game that he had to take the criticism.
"That score was a mistake of mine, I take accountability for that," he commented.
"The intent was to kick the ball far and I simply struck the ball in a bad way. It was an more difficult mountain to climb."
He said receiving jeers "comes with football".
"I am mature, how can I respond?" he added. "We cannot be influenced by the situation in the crowd. Supporters have the entitlement to do what they think.
"It's on us to remain increasingly calm, to focus on our own performance. We are lacking in calmness and calmness to overturn outcomes. This match is a bad loss and it is tough to take."
'It Shocked Me Nobody Returned to the Goal Line'
Despite the keeper's mistake, it was not an easy score for Wilson to score.
Actually it was the second longest-range Premier League goal of the season – following Tyler Adams' forty-three point three metre strike for the Cherries against Sunderland, which interestingly too came on Saturday.
The goalscorer said he was "somewhat taken aback" that he still had an open net to aim for.
10 seconds elapsed between the keeper coming out of his box and Wilson striking – which was 5 seconds after the clearance.
"I felt like the goalkeeper was out of the area for a long time," he said.
"I was surprised none of the back four returned to the line. When none of them covered the net, my eyes lit up somewhat.
"Udogie fell as well, which allowed me a bit of additional time. After that it was all about attempting to achieve the correct connection and get it towards goal. I had a positive feeling, as soon as it came off my boot, that it was heading in."

Jeering Whilst We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unacceptable - the Manager
Although the keeper's error dominated coverage, this was an all-round bad performance for Spurs to continue their home ground woes.
This was their tenth home loss of the year in the league, a shared team record along with nineteen ninety-four and two thousand and three.
The side still have home games against Frank's former club the Bees and champions the Reds to come before the end of the year.
Just a single of those victories have come since the manager replaced Ange Postecoglou in the summer.
"When you're behind 2-0 following the opening, there is a huge challenge to climb," stated the boss.
"When you're in a bad spell, all aspects appears to go against you as well – the first was a deflected attempt, the next is a mistake from Vic.
"The outcome puts us in a position where we have lost an additional match. Every game has a single narrative, this game we were defeated in the early stages.
"We just need to continue striving. The later period was significantly improved and hopefully an aspect we can use to learn."
Tottenham have lost four straight at home London derbies for the first time in the top division.
Furthermore they are averaging 9.5 shots and 3.2 efforts on goal per game in the Premier League – their lowest averages on record in a single campaign (since at least 2003-04).
Ex- Fulham midfield player Murphy commented that Frank has to ride the storm.
"He must take the criticism," Murphy remarked. "He's accepted a high profile job at a major football club with enormous anticipation. There is pressure and responsibility that comes with that.
"The performances at their stadium have been poor and they have to get better {quickly|
