The incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A toddler was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
